Lohan Moves In

Hi Fashion Friends!
So apparently, Lindsay Lohan, is out of rehab, has done an Oprah interview, partied with The Wanted, and is now moving to The Big Apple. Phew… its been a busy few weeks!
And according to this article she has moved in round the corner. Her sister, Aliana, was spotted helping her move in.
Perhaps Lindsay, is vying for an invite to Wintour Towers and a post rehab, Vogue cover, to boot. She should get some tips from Kanye and Kim, who have reportedly been round for tea before.
Well only time will tell. Watch out for more  gossip from New York’s most fashion forward street very soon.

Kanye makes a follow-up appearance…with some famous friends in tow…

Hi Fashion Friends

A quick update on my latest indulgent celeb spotting in my NYC ‘hood.

So, it seems Kanye can’t keep away. I mentioned in a previous post that he, along with his beau, and mother of his week old baby, Kim Kardashian, were spotted in my street not so long ago.

houstonWell, a couple of Saturdays ago (sorry for the slightly tardy post, it has been a fashion filled few weeks!) the tuxedo’d hunk and I were walking home from a delicious super at Cocette in Soho. As we were approaching our street, I looked up and spotted Jay-Z getting out of a car. I have to admit I had indulged in a glass of vino with dinner so I snatched a double take just to be sure, but I knew my uber accurate celebrity radar hadn’t let me down.

The Empire State star was swiftly followed by a very petite Beyonce who looked stunning in a cool black and white striped skirt and top, displaying her very toned tum.

A small crowd quickly gathered as they hurried into a ‘too cool for school’ Jamaican restaurant on the corner of our street.

The next morning, still basking in my celeb spotting glory, I scoured the gossip pages for proof of the previous night’s events and quickly discovered that the popular couple were heading into Kanye’s birthday party. Check out Beyonce’s outfit here.

Seems the world famous gold digger rap star likes this neck of the woods. Perhaps it will be the last time for a while, what with nappy changing duty and all.

Keeping up with Anna and Kim

Rumour has it that reality show guru, Kim Kardashian, has never been invited to the pinnacle fashion event of the showbiz calender – the Met Ball in New York City.

And the person who allegedly blacklisted her? Vogue Editor and fashion industry consort, Anna Wintour.

Well, until Monday night’s annual event.

Kim was on the arm of her boyfriend, Kanye West, in an unpalatable floral number, reminiscent of my great aunt’s curtains. It has been reported that Kim was allowed to go this year’s fashion parade because her music mystro beau and fashion insider fav, Kanye, was performing.

Apart from my serious guilty pleasure for showbiz goss, you may wonder why I am interested in this chitchat?

It just so happens that I live across the road from Miss Wintour in New York and Kimye were spotted in our street on Sunday. A day before this year’s uber glam punk themed event. They were reportedly on their merry way to dinner at the Wintour residence. I wonder who was buttering up who?

Perhaps Kim should have asked the Vogue queen for advice on which outfit to wear…or perhaps she did…

Living The Sex And The City Life at the New York Public library. Almost.

Remember Carrie and Big’s wedding?
SATC
You know, the one in the first film where Big didn’t show until it was too late?
That iconic scene was shot at the New York Public Library on 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue. It is a stunning, truly special building and must-visit destination for every visitor to the magical New York City.
Little did I know when watching that film back in 2008, that I would get to walk up those steps in a fancy dress and high heels on the arm of a tuxedo’ed up hunk (aka my husband, Steve). In sharp contrast to Carrie’s ravishing Vivienne Westwood gown, I wore a simple electric blue number by British high street favourite Reiss.
If you are ever in New York City, be sure to pay a visit to the library and take a walk up those glorious steps – it’s the closest I have felt to being a film star for sure. Oh and don’t forget to check out Bryant Park at the back of the building; my favourite park in the city. Then it is just a short hop and a skip back to Fifth Avenue for serious shopping!
